What is CTET Exam?
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) had held to verify candidates’ eligibility for teacher positions in Central Government Schools such as KVS/NVS and other schools for Classes 1 to 8.

Reservation Criteria
Candidates for the General category who receive 60% or higher on the exam will be deemed qualified. If you fall under one of the following categories: SC/ST/OBC/PWD, you will receive a 5% reduction of the minimum educational qualification qualifying marks.
CTET Online Registration
CTET Registration for CTET July 2023 began on 27th April 2023, as mentioned in the CTET Notification 2023. Candidates waiting for the CTET July 2023 Exam can complete their registration form from the website.

These are the CTET Application Fees. The payment mode is online (Payment by Credit Card/Debit Card/ Net Banking). Note: GST, as applicable, will be charged extra by the Bank.

CTET Eligibility Criteria
Classes 1 to 5 CTET Educational qualification (Primary Stage) for Paper 1
Candidates must have completed or enrolled in the last year of an elementary education diploma (2 years) from an accredited university with at least a 50%.
OR
Candidates must pass the last year of the two-year Elementary Education Diploma (with a minimum of 45% marks) under the NCTE Regulations 2002.
OR
Applicants must complete or enrol in the final year exam of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years) from a university (with at least a 50%).
OR
Candidates must complete or continue to pursue the final year exam of a Diploma in Education(2 years course) from a university (with at least 50%).
OR
They must clear their Graduation (with at least 50% marks) & B.Ed from a recognized University.
Classes 6 to 8 CTET Educational qualification(Elementary Stage) for Paper 2
Candidates must have completed their undergraduate studies and enrol in the last year of the University’s two-year Elementary Education Diploma programme.
OR
After graduating, they must pass or enrol in the first year of a university-based B.Ed programme (with a minimum of 50%).
OR
Candidates must have passed or appeared in one year of B.ED under the NCTE Regulations in Education (B.Ed). Graduation must have been completed (with a minimum of 45%).
OR
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50%; candidates must also have completed a 4-year Bachelor’s degree programme in elementary education.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50%; candidates must complete a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with minimum 50% marks & they must clear or appear in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
OR
Applicants must complete a B.Ed. The programme recognized by the NCTE to be eligible to take the TET or CTET.
CTET Selection Process
The CTET is a qualifying examination to decide the eligibility of applicants for teaching posts in Government Schools. Candidates can attempt CTET Paper I to teach classes I-V or CTET Paper II to teach classes VI-VIII. They may also attempt both papers. After qualifying for the exam, candidates can apply for the relevant teaching posts.
- Candidate must secure a minimum of 60% in the online test. Once the candidate secures 60% or more, they will be eligible to become a private or central government school teacher.
- Applicants from SC/ST, OBC, and PWD categories may get minimum marks relaxed depending on the school’s reservation policies.
- Candidates will receive an eligibility certificate once they clear the CTET.
- Once the certificate is received, the candidate can apply to schools for the Teacher post.
- The candidates must undergo the selection process specified by the institute they are applying to.
Cut Off Marks
The general category students must score 60% marks to qualify for the exam.

CTET 2023 Exam Pattern
CTET 2023 Exam will conduct in two phases:
- Paper-I
- Paper-II
Paper I & II of CTET contain 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) each. One mark for the correct answers, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The paper has conducted in offline mode as a pen-and-paper-based test. Paper 1 has five sections, while Paper 2 consists of 4 sections.
- Paper-I will conduct for candidates who wish to be teachers for Classes I to IV.
- Paper II will conduct for candidates who want teachers for Classes VI to VIII.

CTET Paper-I exam is divided into five sections. The total duration is 2.5 hours(150 minutes).

Central Teacher Eligibility Test Certificate Validity
The Ministry of Education has extended the validity of the Central Teacher Evaluation Test from 7 years to a lifetime. This step and the NPST will help improve the teaching.
