YSR Bheema Scheme was introduced by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Formerly this scheme was Chandranna Bheema Yojana. The YSR bheema scheme’s main objective is to reassure the unorganized worker’s families of disability or the worker’s death. According to India’s statistics, Andhra Pradesh is one of the states with many accidents.
The unorganized worker’s accidents, death, or disability lead to hardship for the family. They will lose their earnings or other expenses relating to the accident.
The government wants to provide accident disability and death insurance as social security for the worker’s family. The government also provides social security to working families even in natural death.
The AP government has already implemented social security scheme for transport drivers on a working experience and pilot basis. Now want to extend the scheme to all the unorganized AP workers with modifications that include disability coverage.
