TN Pongal Gift Scheme Overview:
M K Stalin, Chief Minister, announced the TN Pongal gift Scheme in 2023. Their main aim is to give a ration of 20 items to every ration cardholder. Pongal is the famous and traditional festival celebrated between the 15th and 18th of January in the Indian States.
Through this Scheme, the government distributes food items and Rs.1000 to Tamil Nadu residents. The gift hamper has 20 items like rice, cashews, ghee, jaggery, etc. CM Stalin announced this on Jan 2, 2023, and allotted Rs.5,604 crores for this Scheme.

TN Pongal Gift Rs.1000 Scheme:
This festival is celebrated grandly in Tamil Nadu, and the government announced this Tamil Nadu Pongal gift scheme which gives Rs.2500 cash gift hamper. Every ration card holder of Tamil Nadu is waiting for this year’s gifts. The hamper has 1 kg of sugar, 1 kg of rice, sugar cane, cashew nuts, and raisins.
Tokens are given to the ration card holders, so the gift hamper is directly distributed at the doorstep. Every day 200 cardholders get the gifts. The district supply officer distributes 100 in the morning and 100 in the evening. Hampers are distributed till Dec 30, and if anyone misses, they can collect them at the ration shop on the assigned date.
