Jagananna Gorumudda Scheme Overview:
Many students in every state are suffering from malnutrition due to insufficient food. So, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh started the Jagananna Gorumudda scheme. The main aim is to provide nutritious food like eggs, rice, dal, etc., for the students of AP.
Firstly, in 2003, a mid-day meal was provided only for the primary students, i.e. 1st – 5th standard. But in 2006, it also extended to high school students. The mid-day meal is later called the Jagananna Gorumudda scheme. This applies to the students of government/government affiliated/Madrasahs/Maqtabs/STC educational institutions. Every student will get a free lunch with complete nutrition.
