What is Telangana Aasara Pension?
The word “Aasara” means “Support.” Telangana state government aims to provide financial support to the people who cannot take responsibility for their families due to some accidental injury, disability, or disease, which makes them unfit for work.
The Aasara Pension Scheme was launched in 2014, just after the formation of Telangana State.
This pension scheme provides economic support to widows, disabled people, HIV patients, Old Age people, and people with any other life-threatening disease so that they can meet their daily needs.
Aasara Pension Scheme’s objective
The government’s main objective behind the Aasara Pensions is to provide the state’s people with monetary aid. All the people of Telangana state who meet the requirements and the eligibility criteria will be eligible to apply for this scheme, inconsiderate of their social status or caste category.
The Aasara Pension scheme issues financial help of up to 2,000 rupees. This benefit amount varies from person to person. The Telangana state government has stated they will increase the benefits for all the current and future Aasara pension candidates.
TS Aasara Pension Scheme eligibility criteria

Eligibility for Old Age people:-
- At applying, an old-age candidate should be at least 65 years old.
- The candidate should not use any other central or state government scheme.
- Only one pension in a family is allowed. The application will be rejected if any other family member receives any retirement from the government.
- All the labourers, agricultural workers, daily wage workers, and masons. Other unorganized workers like hawkers, street vendors, and cobbler’s rickshaw pullers are eligible for the Aasara Pension Scheme.
- Homeless people living in slum colonies and other temporary settlements can apply to this scheme.
- Disabled or Critically ill people over 65 years of age who don’t have any source of income can apply to this scheme.
Windows:-
- The candidate should be over 18 years at the time of application.
- The candidate should not be employed in any government department or receive any other pension from the government.
- The candidate should not have any taxable financial assets or property.
Disabled People:-
- If the candidate has a disability percentage of over 40%, they can apply for this scheme.
- The candidate must have the SADAREM Certificate to apply.
- Candidate must not be receiving any other pension or help from the government.
- The candidate should not have any taxable financial assets or property.
for Weavers:-
- The candidate must be over 50 years old at the time of application.
- The weaver should have a Weaver Card in their possession to verify his occupation.
- Only one pension is allowed per family.
- The candidate should not be a taxpayer.
Eligibility for Toddy Tapper & Beedi Worker:-
- Beedi Workers can apply for two pensions from one family.
- Toddy Tapper should have a Toddy card issued by the government.
- The candidate must be 50 years old in both cases.
- The candidate should not be a taxpayer or should not have wealth more than the accepted limit by the BPL limit.
- For Toddy Tappers, only one pension per family is allowed.
For Single Women:-
Aasara Telangana also covers single women, either divorced or unmarried. All single women who satisfy the following eligibility criteria can apply to the Aasara Pension scheme.
- The candidate needs to be at least 35 years old.
- If the applicant is a divorced woman, she should present a copy of the divorce certificate.
- The candidate should not be employed in any government department, nor should she receive any other pension from the government.
- Also, the candidate must belong to the BPL category or any other financially weak category recognized by the government.

Online:-

- The candidate must collect the application form by visiting the district municipal corporation office or the nearest MeeSeva service centre.
- Fill in all the details like name, date of birth, marital status, physical status, caste/tribe, bank details, and residential details in the application form.
- After filling out the form, the candidate must attach photocopies of the required documents.
- Paste the photographs on the application form.
- Apply to the district office of the municipal corporation.
- The application will receive the reference number on its mobile once it succeeds.

Telangana Aasara Pension For Beneficiaries Of 57 To 65 Years old
Everyone knows the Telangana government provides TS Aasara pension to people above sixty-five. Throughout the election campaign in 2018, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao guaranteed to extend this scheme’s benefit to people aged between fifty-seven to sixty-five years.
The society invites applications to eliminate rural poverty under the rural development department from all the eligible beneficiaries. All those who turn fifty-seven years on the application date can apply under this scheme. Qualified candidates can apply at Meeseva centres in the directed format.
Application submission Under TS Aasara (57 to 65 years of age)
Beneficiaries must submit the birth certificate or class 10th memorandum and the application.
Apart from that school leaving certificate, which the government acknowledges, voter ID card, or any other documents mentioned previously, issues for pension sanction need to be submitted along with the application.
GHMC officers and district collectors will collect the applications at the centres of eseva and Meeseva. Beneficiaries aren’t needed to pay any charge because the government will reimburse it to the eseva centre.

A household whose Annual family income is less than Rs. 1.50 lakhs in rural areas and Rs. 2.00 lakhs in urban areas shall be eligible for social security pension. The pension shall be sanctioned after beneficiary verification through Aadhar Enabled Payment System.
